The Search for Fuel Economy

Pages from a Designers' Notebook

Freedom Machine
The goal: 100 mpg at 70 mph, into a 30 mph headwind, with four bags of groceries.
Chap. 38: John Keogh helps out
We have a little problem...
Most people just see a "yellow banana with measles"
I see a wonderful, shiney, silver streamliner... like the streamlined planes of the 30s

Unfortunately, I cannot illustrate what I see in my head. I just don't have that kind of talent. But I know somebody who does:

John Keogh is a designer, stylist and illustrator. We do the same kind of stuff except John can really draw! Not only that, he puts "Life" into his work. Besides working for some of the world's biggest motorcycle companies, John has taken an interest in the streamlined motorcycles of the future.
Look at what he did for Cedric Lynch's pioneering electric cycle:
Would he do this for me?
John Keogh said "Yes."

Thus began a fun and fruitful "designer to designer" relationship that you might find interesting, too.

Follow along our process. See what is important to John and what is important to me as we work together to generate an accurate image of how the "Last Vetter Fairing" will look.
