2012 was the year of Craig being the Grand Marshal at a number of motorcycle events.  It was also his year to turn 70 years old.  Yeah… he likes it.

Food grows fast in California but our plants need tending which is one more reason to not be travelling so much. Having the boys live on the ranch has made a huge difference for us.

Happy New Year from the left coast!   You hear people say that as you get older, time really flies by…   It’s true.  The Lord has blessed us with a pile of things to do and we love all of them!

Craig continues to pursue his passion for “living better on less energy” by hosting the Vetter Fuel Economy Challenges around the country. The first is the Quail Ride in May, which is in our front yard and very convenient. Next is the AMA’s Vintage Motorcycle Days in Ohio, followed by the AMA’s Hall of Fame Inductions in Las Vegas in November.  The new group of motorcycle pioneers is growing.

And so is our food:

We now have Dyna Dog to play with Zak, Morgan and Willie Dog.

Carol (arrow) and Morgan (standing) sing. They sang at the Olympics last summer with the Monterey Peninsula’s Olympic Choir. They sang in Canterbury Cathedral. In Paris they were able to see some of the Louvre, the Montmartre District and Sacre Coeur.

Their first performance was at La Madeleine Church and it was an amazing experience.  The trip turned out not to be all that they had hoped for but, Morgan did sing in the Olympic Park while Carol was doing the Evensong service at Westminster Abby.   At home, Morgan sings in two choirs.  Yep... Morgan really likes singing.

In his Fuel Challenges, Craig has discovered that about 20 horsepower is enough to go any legal speed in America... if you are streamlined, that is. He been trying to get Carol to ride a scooter or at least a smaller bike, but Carol never found anything that appealed to her... until she found the 250cc Honda Rebel. Craig assured her it would do everything she wanted. But Carol wasn't sure. She started riding in 1973 on a 500cc Honda. Didn't she need all tht power? She soon realized that she did not She calls her new little Honda, “the Baby.”   Now if she can just get a decent fairing for it…

We keep thinking that we will slow down.  So far, this is the best we can do.

And finally… Christmas dinner and pet ducks.

Craig and his brother, Bruce loved their pet ducks

Morgan loves ducks in a different way. "TurDucKen" is a chicken inside a duck inside a turkey. Morgan makes it and everybody eats it. Not Craig. Craig does not eat pets. Craig eats yummy turkey and ham.
Happy New Year!
