Standard Vetter Streamlined body kit superimposed over Burgman, proper scale. The Vetter Streamlined shell is the very same shell that contestants achieved over 400 miles per gallon with in the Craig Vetter Fuel Economy Contests. One of the reasons for such great mileage was that the riders in those contestests actually fit inside the shell. That guy really sticks up there. Frontal area is everything and this is a very dramatic demonstration of that. We will have to "section" the shell to make it fit the man.

Streamlined body sectioned to fit. This is just the opposite of hot rodders chopping their car tops. We are pulling the body apart and adding sections to make the streamlining fit the rider and the bike. We want a smooth, single shape.

Fibreglass sections added and body cut away for rider The entire rear can be filled with luggage. you must remember to keep the sides rounded so side winds don't blow you off course. I would not take this project lightly. There is a lot of work here. Really, the rider needs to have doors and a top to complete the streamlining. Air likes to flow over one continuous shape. These are rough suggestions for you experimenters. Once you actually streamline your scooter, you will have to re-gear your machine higher. It is a slower turning, less working engine that will be giving you better mileage.
