"I knew him ever so briefly at Daytona in 1967, and then just by his nickname, “Bad News.” He came into and out of my life in about one minute—the time it takes to stage and run a quarter-mile drag race. I never forgot him."

So begins the story I wrote for Michael Dregni for his book: The Harley-Davidson Reader. Almost forty years have passed since I raced this man. I have told and re-told this story whenever the subject of motorcycles came up. You see, I had never encountered a fast Harley.

Bad News, it turns out, had a fast Harley. I was about to learn something about Harleys I would never forget.

This is the true account of what happened in 1967, on an abandoned air strip just west of Daytona.

We bought a few copies of this fun book for you as great gifts. What we don't sell here, we will be giving away ourselves.

Bad News is really PeeWee, but his real name really Jewell Whigham. This could explain why he was so hard to find. Jewell is now seventy-three-years-old and has a little motorcycle shop in West Palm Beach Florida. He is very much loved by his local motorcycle community

The Harley-Davidson Reader with my story of Bad News. Autographed for you.

I will write a personal note for you and yours. You cannot get this anywhere else.
